Lesson 1 – Your Attitude and Commitment

“You may delay, but time will not.” —Benjamin Franklin

In lesson 1, we’re going to do the most critical section in your blog business plan. We’re going to work through your commitment. Here’s what I need you to do, YOU NEED TO BELIEVE for a moment that YOU’RE ALREADY SUCCESSFUL. Step into the future where you’re blog is making money, it’s growing overnight, you have A LOT of followers, and comments are occurring without you needing to exchange. Next, take a moment and think about all the work you put into your blog. The hours of work, the thousand and thousands of words you have written. And you made it. You did it; you feel terrific, don’t you.

I appreciate you for doing this exercise.

Now look back on your life from your future successful self, what motivated you during all those days, hours, nights, weekends, lost relaxing time? What was it? Seriously.

Take a moment, watch the video above to get an idea on how you should fill out your first section of the business plan.

Why is this section important?

I get asked this same question from people I’ve mentored and coached over the years. My answer is always the same. If you don’t give a crap about what you’re building, it will fail. Because as soon as something more interesting comes along, you will give in, it may not right away, but soon.

When it’s month 6 of building a blog, and you are receiving no traffic, what will keep you motivated? Here are some questions to answers.

  • When your friend calls you to go out, but you choose to work on your blog? What motivates you to continue?
  • When you don’t watch the latest new series, but you choose to work on your blog? What motivates you to continue?
  • When you get 5 negative comments in a row, what motivates you to continue?

What to put in your business plan?

Watch the video as I step you through how to fill out the attitude and commitment section of your business plan. Filling out the section of the business plan forces you to write out your motivation to build your blog. Make sure you do the following.

  1. Add pictures
  2. Add quotes
  3. Add honesty – most people superficial in there desires, find the core motivation
  4. Review this at least 3 times before moving to the next section
